Twirly Birds

Aerodynamics in Action – Our young engineers in Ms. Meredith’s class are taking flight with their latest exploration into the world of Twirly Birds! By constructing and testing these paper rotors, students are diving deep into the principles of flight, gravity, and air resistance. 

 

 

LAS After School

LAS After School Program – Our enrichment doesn’t end when the final bell rings! During our after-school sessions, students have the unique opportunity to go deeper into their skills through specialized projects and collaborative challenges. They meet Tuesdays through Thursdays from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm.

Spelling Bee

Celebrating Our Scholars, Strengthening Our Students. – On March 6, 2026 we had some truly 'buzzing' contestants for this year's Spelling Bee! Congratulations to our King and Queen Bee winners—we are so proud of everyone who participated.

Yoga Club 2026Find Your Center, Fuel Your Mind. – Our Yoga Club provides a peaceful space for students to stretch, breathe, and build physical strength while improving their focus. By practicing mindfulness and balance, students learn valuable tools to manage stress and stay energized throughout the school day!  They meet on Fridays from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm.

Valentine's Day Dance

Heart, Friendship, and School Spirit – On February 13, 2026, our school community came together for a heartwarming Valentine’s Day celebration filled with music, dancing, and friendship. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate kindness and create lasting memories with their classmates.

Chess Club 2026

Strategic Learning Students engage in games that build critical thinking, patience, and problem-solving skills.Learning to anticipate an opponent's moves and plan several steps ahead.Learning to win with grace and lose with dignity.  They meet on Tuesdays from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm.

Cheerleading

Celebrating Our Spirit: The LAS Cheerleading Team - The Lincoln Avenue School Cheerleading Team brings an incredible surge of energy and spirit to our community! Through their teamwork, athleticism, and dedication, these student-athletes do more than just lead cheers—they build school pride and demonstrate the power of collaboration.  They meet on Fridays from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

Boys to MenMentorship, Empowerment, Legacy – Success at the January 30, 2026 Boys to Men Breakfast! 🥞 Mentorship and community were on full display at Lincoln Avenue School. Shoutout to Mr. Hall for leading the way, and a special thanks to Mr. Yearwood, Dr. Fitzhugh, our Board members, and other guests for joining the celebration. Great food, better company, and an unforgettable time for everyone!

The Art ClubThe Art Club at Lincoln Avenue School is a vibrant space where students’ imagination meet the canvas. This enrichment program encourages young artists to explore diverse mediums, refine their technical skills, and express their unique perspectives through visual storytelling. From collaborative murals to individual masterpieces, our club fosters a community of innovation, patience, and artistic excellence. They meet on Fridays from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm.

Ruby Bridges

On November 13, 2025, Lincoln Avenue School students and staff will walk to school to honor the legacy of Ruby Bridges

LAS Dance Club

Our LAS Dance Club, under the Choreographer Mrs. Kane, performed with grace and power during their recent showcase! The group most recently took the stage on March 5, 2026, delivering a magical performance at the Black History Month Program.  They meet on Fridays from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm.

Blueberry muffins

Mrs. Larue’s and Ms. Gelin’s Pre-K class at Lincoln Avenue School recently participated in a hands-on baking activity, making delicious blueberry muffins. This interactive lesson serves as a multi-sensory foundation for early childhood development by fostering confidence and independence in young learners. 

LAS Vocal Club

Our talented students in the LAS Vocal Club, under the direction of Mrs. Daniels, are finding their voices and harmonizing together! We are incredibly proud of their recent performance at our March 5, 2026, Black History Program, where they sang beautifully and moved the entire audience with their talent.  They meet on Fridays from 3:10 pm to 4:10 pm.

The Art Class

The art studio is in full bloom as students prepare their cherry blossom entries for this year's competition. Using vibrant pinks and intricate brushwork, our young artists are working hard to capture the essence of the season. 

LAS Basketball Team

LAS Basketball Team - Our student-athletes are showing incredible dedication on the court, mastering the fundamentals of teamwork, precision shooting, and quick defensive footwork. 

Puryear Class

Mrs. Puryear’s Science Lesson – In this session of our FOSS Science unit, students dived into Investigation 3: Sound and Light. Our young scientists explored the relationship between light sources and objects by making shadows.
